What We Did
We shifted the kitchen doorway over to allow for a longer run on the cooktop wall and by placing all the tall items on the L of the kitchen allowed for great flow in the work triangle. The previous island was raised on a platform which was removed as well as the ceiling detail above to allow for very clean sightlines.
The original walk through pantry was designed to not only house additional small appliances and extra refrigeration but to be a beverage area, a cozy spot to brew a nice cup of tea.
We also connected living room entertainment cabinets to a family organization area to houses the calendar and a charging drawer as well as a drawer to hold each family members items.
